Heather Cook graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and went on to work in a variety of ICU settings in academic medical centers. After spending several years taking care of critically ill patients, she made the decision to move to primary care and entered a Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University of California San Diego. Since that time, the focus of her work has been on preventive care, family practice and public health.
Through her own healing journey, from professional burnout and sports injuries, she found the benefit and power of functional medicine in balancing the hormonal and endocrine systems. Her passion is helping people find their own inner wisdom to heal, find balance and optimize their health and vitality. Heather has spent many years learning about the power of nutrition, restorative sleep, healthy movement and spiritual health. Heather also has a strong interest in and experience with thyroid management.
In her free time, Heather is an avid runner, reader and trail rider.
